Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I buy your products?
Our Meaford location is only a production facility, we do not sell frauxmages at this location. The best way to find frauxmages near you, is to use our retail locator. Simply insert your postal code and location name and the closest retailer near you will pop up. We suggest calling the retailer in advance to make sure the frauxmages are still in stock at that location.
Are your products all vegan?
Yes! All of our products are 100% dairy free, oil free, preservative free, gluten free certified by The Canadian Celiac Association and Vegecert certified vegan. Our frauxmages are also handcrafted and are cruelty free.
What are your products made out of?
All of our products are made from a short list of natural ingredients. We divide our products into two lines: The Fresh Line and the Aged Line. The frauxmages in The Aged Line are made with raw cashews, vegan probiotics, and bacterial cultures that enable the frauxmages to form rinds. The Frauxmages in The Fresh Line are made from almonds. We are aiming to come out with frauxmages that are totally nut free, so keep an eye out for those in the future!
Can I eat the rind on the Aged Frauxmages?
Yes! The rind is made by using traditional cheese making procedures. They are made from bacterial cultures that enables the frauxmage to have an authentic taste and texture.
How long are the products good for?
Once opened, your frauxmage is good for 5-7 days in the fridge. If the frauxmage is unopened, it is good until the best before date located on the box of the product.
The only exception is the Plant Parm. Once opened, the Plant Parm is good for 6 months and does not need to be refrigerated.
How should I wrap my products once they are opened?
The best way to wrap up your frauxmage is either in an airtight container or in cling wrap. This will enable the product to stay fresh until the next time you eat it.
Why is the paper on the Botanic Camembert different?
The Botanic Camembert got a new and improved look! This frauxmage is now wrapped in a recyclable paper made by Ovtene which extents shelf life of the product and keeps the frauxmage fresh. Once the Botanic Camembert is opened, we suggest storing it in an airtight container.
Can I freeze my frauxmage?
Yes and no. The Aged Line may be be frozen except for the Botanic Camembert. Freezing the Botanic Camembert will cause the rind on the frauxmage to change. The products may last up to a few months in the freezer. To enjoy the frauxmage, take it out of the freezer and let it thaw out.
The Fresh Line cannot be frozen.
